Bulk Flow Heat Exchanger: An ideal choice for cooling fertilizers

The patented bulk flow heat exchanger is an excellent solution for cooling fertilizers, with over 3,000 units successfully deployed worldwide in applications involving powder, particle, and crystal cooling and heating. (You may refer to relevant case studies to explore similar scenarios where fertilizers cooling heat exchangers are utilized.)

Solex's bulk flow heat exchange technology combines dense-phase conveying principles with innovative plate heat exchanger design, significantly enhancing heat exchange efficiency. Test results demonstrate that bulk flow heat exchangers offer a low operating cost, energy-efficient, and pollution-free cooling solution, making them particularly suitable for fertilizers heat transfer applications.

Working Principle
The core structure of the bulk flow heat exchanger consists of a set of vertically arranged parallel heat transfer plates. As the heat transfer medium flows through the internal channels of the plates, heat is indirectly conducted from within the plates to the material between them. The material flows steadily and controllably from top to bottom between the plates.

Technical Features

  • Vertical Indirect Heat Exchange
Under the influence of gravity, the cooled fertilizers pass gently and slowly between the heat transfer plates, effectively preventing breakage, abrasion, or decomposition. This ensures particle integrity and maintains crystal structure.
  • High Efficiency and Energy Saving
Compared to air-cooling processes, energy consumption can be reduced by up to 90%.
  • Eco-Friendly Design
Air is no longer used as the cooling medium during the process, significantly reducing dust and gas emissions. This eliminates risks of bacterial contamination, odor pollution, and moisture variation caused by direct contact between fertilizers and air.
  • Low Installation Costs
Eliminates the need for gas handling equipment such as large-diameter ducts, induced draft fans, dust collectors, air coolers, and emission control systems.
  • High Reliability and Easy Maintenance
The bulk flow heat exchanger features a simple structure with no moving parts, reducing failure rates and maintenance requirements. The heat transfer plates can be individually dismantled or replaced, making cleaning and repair more convenient.

Application Advantages
Compared to traditional cooling methods, bulk flow heat exchangers offer significant advantages in energy savings, operational safety, environmental emissions, and product quality. They are an advanced choice for modern fertilizers cooling processes.
