COMPANY PROFILE

Starting out as a division of Cominco Engineering Services (CESL) in 1989, the company was divided in 1999 to become Bulkflow Technologies. In 2008, the company changed its name to Solex Thermal Science Inc. and have been pioneering technology in the science of heating, cooling, and drying of solids, liquids and gases ever since. Solex's patented solutions can be found globally, with more than 3,000 units implemented in 50-plus countries and counting.

Since 2005, Solex has been cooperating with Chemequip Industries Ltd. in China and has grown to become a global partner.

In 2019, Solex continued to solidify expertise in thermal and bulk materials engineering by joining forces with Netherlands-based Mosman Stainless Steel, a worldwide leader in stainless steel. Made possible through a joint investment by the private equity firm Anders Invest B.V., The merger of the two companies provides customers with made-to-order solutions from an integrated producer of heat exchange technology that has more than 150 years of combined experience.

Solex are also now using that same technology to change the landscape within the global energy transition sector through key collaborations in low-carbon applications such as industrial waste heat recovery and reuse, renewable energy storage, carbon capture and electrification. In 2023, Solex acquired Econotherm Ltd., leading UK-based manufacturer of heat pipe heat exchangers used in diverse, difficult-to-recover waste heat applications such as recuperators, economizers, pre-heaters, steam generators and condensers.

Solex Global Partners

Chemequip and Solex have been global partners with each other for nearly two decades of in-depth cooperation. Chemequip is the only manufacturing base and service center authorized by Solex in China.

The design of each bulk flow heat exchanger individually is in strict accordance with Solex’s patented technology, following the Solex's proprietary quality management system. Inspection of each process, from the procurement of raw materials to processing and the final factory inspection, are all strictly adhered to Solex’s quality documentation and submitted to the Canada Solex Quality Management Center for review, and are followed and inspected by Solex’s resident engineers.
